Red Five
»Site Info

This is my small and humble site, hosted at 50 Webs because I don't have the time or money to dedicate to a domain of my own. It's really just a place for me to play around with my limited knowledge of web design and show some love for a few of my favorite things. I hope you enjoy your stay here, regardless of the small amount of content. :)

Everything you see was created by my own two hands, from the coding to the visual design. 50 Webs offers a WSIWYG editor, but I don't use it. Instead, I code each page in Notepad and then upload them. I'm not the best at coding and my knowledge of stuff like PHP is very limited, but I do like to think that I have a fairly good grasp on HTML and CSS.

The picture I used is an official shot of a T-65 X-wing from the video game Lego Star Wars II. I adore the Lego Star Wars games, and since this site is largely centered around Star Wars, I thought it'd be fun to use a picture from them. I edited the image slightly in Adobe Photoshop CS2 and used a font called SF Zimmerman for the text. Other fonts used on the site are Verdana and Arial.

» What's in a name?
You might be wondering why I chose the name Red Five. Well, to put it simply, I'm a huge Star Wars geek. Not only do I love all six movies, but I'm also a fan of the extended universe, which includes all novels and video games having to do with the franchise. I also watch and adore the Clone Wars animated TV series. My favorite character from the Star Wars universe is Luke Skywalker, the "chosen one" who everything ultimately centers around. I love Luke because he's the epitome of a chivalrous, charismatic hero. I enjoyed seeing him develop from Eager Young Farm Boy to Wise Jedi Master. He's also an awesome pilot! I've loved the Rebel Alliance's Rogue Squadron and the X-wings since I first saw them in A New Hope. Each member of Rogue Squadron goes by a codename which consists of the word "red" followed by a number. Luke, one of the squad's best pilots, went by the codename "Red Five". Thus, the name of my site.

Wasn't all that soooo interesting? ;)
